Well it seems that the big three are expanding the game business outside of the typical gamer to a more casual demographic of gamers. According to this article over at CNET NEWs "
Everyone's a Gamer" it seems that Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft had something to announce that targeted the casual gamer, even EA chimed in with it's two cents. Now to keep it short I'll give you my take on this.
I look at it this way more gamers means more money and more money means better games ( at least I hope so ). However just because Nintendo can cater to the casual gamer in such a unique way doesn't mean Sony and Microsoft can. Yeah, yeah we've recently had Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Viva Pinata and a few other hits but how many casual disasters have we had ? I will say that the time for the casual gamer is now but don't forget we don't want 100 different versions of Guitar Hero or Bejeweld. What we do want are good quality solid games, and that goes for both casual and hardcore gamers. We don't want crap. So there that's my 2 cents on the subject.
